If you're like me (and I think you are) you have lots of favorite houses that you've probably saved on your computer or maybe in a notebook or file folder. And if you're like me (and I think you are) you probably look at them and say "This is my favorite", then you move onto another one and say "No this is my favorite". I am famous for that. However, I will say THIS is absolutely my most favorite kitchen ever. I love everything about it, right down to all of the smallest details. When we do a kitchen remodel, this will be my inspiration. Stay tuned next week and I will show you the rest of this house and yes, it's equally fabulous.
I KNOW this house...well ok I've never been in this house, but I remember it from the magazine layout and loved it! That is why you are the very first blog I sit down to with my coffee in the morning :) XO
I can highly recommend drawers instead of a bank of lower cabinets. As I get older these drawers are much easier to access. I replaced three standard, double cabinet with an upper drawer, with four drawer cabinets. In one, the lower drawer is deep enough for pots and pans and another has all my glass baking pans. Another bottom drawer holds salad and serving bowls, next one up all my bread, next, more bowls and plates and in the tp, my silverware. Works for me!
This kitchen is fabulous! One warning re: the drawers though. I have some and they apparently weren't attached onto very strong runners. They have pulled out and collapsed twice! I really need to just pull out the drawers and add extra screws myself, instead of letting the menfolk do the fixing....
